The pink ducky was a gift from my co-worker and good friend, who went on secondment today. It's the first time that we've not been working together since I started with the organisation - I miss her already - but the ducky is there to smile at me.
Awww cute! At least you have a deck. We don't have permanent desks at my company - we all hot desk. I don't mind it though as I get to move around and work with other people..........which is good I guess if you don't actually like the person you were sitting next to in a permanent location!
@gigiflower The powers that be are planning to turn our work area into open plan. I'm an introvert who spends most of my day talking to people. My office is my sanctuary and I don't think they have any concept of the emotional upset their grand idea is causing, given that my colleagues are all introverts too. What you describe is my idea of absolute hell in a workplace.
@alia_801 I actually think any workplace is absolute hell, with or without desks! I haven't had a desk for 16 years since being in Melbourne........I personally don't care but I know most people would actually prefer a desk. Many people feel more secure with a desk. If I could work from home 24 x 7 that would be ideal for me!
