March for marriage equality by alia_801

March for marriage equality

While we were in Sydney, we joined the march for marriage equality, which ended up being the largest march for LGBTIQ rights in Australian history. Roads around were full of people, and two train stations were closed as the streets were so full that people couldn't get out. The atmosphere was amazing, and it was lovely to be with so many people all standing up for the rights of vulnerable members of the population.

@nicolecampbell I missed the Melb one (I was volunteering), so it was handy that the Sydney one was on while we were visiting. The Town Hall square was packed (as were most of the streets and train stations nearby!). The speeches at the beginning went on forever, but the atmosphere was amazing.
