Now that Maddie no longer takes a nap, we can travel farther afield. This 62 acre facility is maintained by the North Florida Botanical Society, a private nonprofit educational organization. Today we only visited a portion of the beautiful gardens including cold hardy palms, ferns, a rock garden, a small collection of bonsai, a hummingbird garden, azaleas and camellias, and bamboo. We will have to return to see the children's garden, the water gardens, the largest herb garden in the southeast and the butterfly garden. It was a lovely afternoon and ended with Maddie falling asleep in the car going home. BTW, in the photo in the upper left corner, you can see Maddie and her father walking through the woods.
