I was going through my photos, discarding ones that were not satisfactory for one reason or another, when I came upon this picture of my son playing his mandolin. Before this project I probably would have deleted it as out of focus and a failure. Now I have a different perspective and I realize it says something about my son and his music that tells the story very well.
It has made me more choosy, but in different ways. I always was one to like the blurred. out of focus, movement shots, but now I want the ones that are well-composed and I am trying to shoot from different angles and different placement in the frames (hard for me to break the habit though). I like this, since it shows how mush he moves with his music!
