Another vacation picture, this one from Wilton, CT but it could have been from any one of a number of small towns in that area. The roads follow the same paths that the early settlers used when traveling on horseback. Very little accommodation has been made for 21st century vehicles. Aside from the paving, you can imagine yourself back when Connecticut was still a colony.
Love your picture of the country lane..yes it could actually be anywhere,... reminds me of West Virginia on our vacation and also back to Germany vacation as the roads we traveled there went right through the forests (short cut) and were even narrower Love the green canopy.
For all of us who'd love to have a chance to step back in time, this looks like the place to do it! Life up here can have a similar feel in many places, and I find our pictures of country lanes look quite alike! I hope those large trucks heed the warning...imagine what it would take to rescue them!
And, Alli, your sweet note...thank you...that's a nice comparison! (Mica was standing at the gate waiting for us today...and of course we came prepared!)
Just wanted to come back by to tell you that wherever I come across your comments, I always find them insightful and entertaining. They're a real pleasure!
LOL...when we had the 10-day visit with houseguests, I'd be up until 3:30AM! Nuts, isn't it?! Like you, I want to see so many more photos, but I can't stop and look without saying something! (More friends arriving tomorrow...it could happen again!)
Neat picture of a lazy county road. The sign says the road is narrow and then says long trucks use caution. It is probably because of the turns but it is kind of funny. It looks like it should say wide trucks
