My kitchen clock is a stand in for the Doomsday Clock. The Doomsday Clock is a symbolic clock face, maintained since 1947 by the board of directors of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists at the University of Chicago. The closer the clock is to midnight, the closer the world is estimated to be to global disaster. As of January 14, 2010, the Doomsday Clock stood at six minutes to midnight, but with all the trouble in the world, I've moved it even closer.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could reset it and give ourselves a better chance at finding world peace?
Great shot! Very clever! Of course, now I have the Iron Maiden song "Two Minutes to Midnight" stuck in my head, especially the line, "Two minutes to midnight, the hands that threaten doom..."
I didn't know about the Dooms Day clock. Interesting. So, now I have to ask...is your shot 2 photos superimposed...as I doubt you have a peace signclock in your kitchen...then again I hear once a hippie, always a hippie!
How I added the peace symbol to my clock. In Picase I dragged a sticker of a peace symbol to the clock face, chose the color them made it transparent. Good old Picasa!
What a provocative photo and really stunning caption. Would that we could turn back the hands of time and find world peace indeed! The warmth of our community here would really serve as a good example and a blue-print... I see your offering today as a contender for the top 5 Allison!
And thanks for your comment today...not so delighted, personally, with my photo, but I did love that video which I thought was worthy of sharing! I never see my neighbors spend time in their yard, so I suppose they overlook their tree. We just sweep off the cherry pits...maybe we'll have a tree of our own one day!
I have not really used Picasa for more creative editing...but now that I see a good example of what it is capable of, I think I should forget Picnik for a day or so and see what I can discover at Picasa.
