A dormer window is a gabled extension built out from a sloping roof to accommodate a vertical window. In our neighborhood of traditional brick homes, symmetry is the norm. These five windows are balanced by the matching chimneys at either end of the roof. I adjusted the colors to emphasize the repetition of the windows.
Very nice! Is that a slate roof? I noticed a lot of those last time I was in Richmond; I don't know if it was just the part of town I was in or if that's the thing up there. They look so solid and beautiful, but you almost never see them in central SC--too expensive and it doesn't snow. :)
Seeing all of your great repetition shots is making me feel bad. What I thought would be an easy theme I think I posted only a single shot. Nice job Allison!
