I hope the different shades show up on your screen as well as they did in real life. I always thought the names of lipstick were so romantic--cherries in the snow, fire and ice, but apparently research has decided that assigning numbers was somehow more businesslike or serious. Who wears lipstick to be serious?
I just got a pedicure and chose the color based on the name --- I was wanting something a little sassy and IMHO there are few women sassier than "Scarlett O Hara" ... guess what color my toes are?!!?
LOL, Allison (your comment above to Denise...!)
Nice shot - I haven't worn or bought lipstick for a long time, but somehow "225" does not seem the same as "Honeyberry!"
What fun are numbers?! I love the names and have picked a shade based solely on name many times. But I've never thought, "hey, 702 sounds much more fun than 281!" (Although if I were in a bad mood and I came across color 666, I might be tempted! lol) Great theme shot!
I love the "names"..."numbers" make me feel like someone at the helm just doesn't care anymore... Can the same thing be said for polish? Since Denise and you started "naming names" (rather hysterically, I might add!), my favorite is "Miami Beet"... (Just a silly tiny "onion" for the afternoon :-)
I'm actually a writer, mostly in the beauty field. One part of my job is sometimes creating product and shade names. It can be very very fun! Some companies (like Revlon here) use numbers in addition to names because some people are more number oriented when it comes to remembering stuff. Me... I'm all about the fun names!
Love it -- exactly right for the theme.
