Ready to Hatch

When I learned this week's theme was "eggs", I was not at all inspired. Then, as I often do, I dropped in to the art room after school to catch up with my friend and colleague, Holly. She directed me to a small group of first graders in the After School Program working on Spring crafts. On closer inspection I was really impressed with the imagination of this particular project. The little girl put a cotton ball in a plastic sandwich bag with a drop of food coloring. After shaking the bag for awhile, she removed the cotton ball and added a felt beak and little bead eyes. She decorated a plastic egg with markers and there you have it! Wouldn't this be a fun table favor for Easter dinner?
now that is one brilliant girl! who would have thought to do that? and how fun would it be to make a bunch of these, and mail them to people, as a Easter surprise? Now I want one! lol! so adorable!

@deesdiscoveries I like the way you have extended the original idea. That would be a fun surprise.

Good for you for talking to Holly...I talked to Dana (for those who don't know her, Dana is our other art teacher) telling her about this week's egg theme...she had no ideas/thoughts on it...so I took some pics of flowers...have not decided whether to use one of them or not yet.
