I kept to the safety and comfort of the living room today due to Irene's activity. This is a picture taken mid-day from the weather app on my iPad. I stayed off my desktop computer all day since we kept getting power interruptions. The red pin in the middle is my zipcode. The color guide at the bottom indicated the severity of the rainfall. You can see we were buffeted by heavy rains and strong winds til about 8 PM.
I emailed my daughter in Boston to find out their status. Here is her reply:
"Hasn't reached us yet but the paranoia levels are reaching epic proportions.
Put anything that could become a missile in the garage.
Loaded up on water, wine, and toilet paper.
Let the games begin!"
So glad you were able to keep dry and that your daughter was safe as well. Thankfully Irene lost a little bit of her steam by the time she hit MA. But better safe than sorry- I took down all my windchimes and plants. Didn't want them clanging all night or rolling down the street- just in case.
