All night thunder and lightning disturbed my sleep, and I woke to the sound of rain continuing to beat down. I resolutely ignored the turmoil outside as I checked my email at 6:30. I chanced to look out the window and for one glorious instant the sun broke through the leaden sky. I leaped up and ran outside to capture that miraculous moment. By the time I was ready to head to school the rain had begun to beat down even more forcefully, and the quiet roads had turned into rushing rivers. Throughout the day the lightning alarm blared its warning to stay indoors. Even now at 8 PM Eastern Daylight Time, I can hear the rumble of thunder in the distance. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
well let me tell you, we could not ignore the storm's fury today. It dumped about 6 inches of rain here on us,and we had a terrible time of it. Could not find a route home that was not closed.
It was cloudy and drizzly in Michigan. But even though we had raindrops, Betsy and I decided to take Isaac peach picking. I can't wait until I'm home and can upload and post my pictures. I hope the rain will subside for you very soon! You sure have had some weather there in Virginia over the last month!
A brief respite from the storm is most welcome ... Hope things are better. I've been to busy watching the wildfires in horror to keep up with Lee's "rain of terror".
