The Lonely Snowman

One of my photography scouts alerted me to this scene soon after I arrived at school. Forsaking my duties in the library, I took off down the sidewalk to capture this pathetic snowman before the sun worked its magic. The location of the school is about 8 miles west of my neighborhood and the temperature is usually a few degrees cooler. Apparently our 10 minute snow storm on Saturday lasted a little longer further west. There was enough of the white stuff to fashion a snow creature, but what little there was on the ground soon disappeared.
I guess you could say this snowman was "out standing in its field"
Great find

@sarasdadandmom It is amazing how many teachers (and even an occasional student) alert me to possible photo ops around school. They seem to enjoy being part of the process.

Yes, he is definitely outstanding, and so glad you captured a shot before he was history.

@reba I see what you mean! It is actually taller than a cat, but definitely not as roly poly as a snowman should be.

He casts a tall shadow over all that may follow. Good catch. I wish I had alphabet scouts.
