I came home too late last night to create this collage of the Maundy Thursday service at our church, so here it is today. You can see our minister weaving the story of the Last Supper into our service. You can also see the 3 courses of our gourmet meal and our resident chef shmoozing at my table. He created this outstanding repast with the assistance of members of our governing body ("The Session" in Presbyterian parlance) and other church leaders. The focus of the evening is following Christ's example of serving others with love. We start the meal by washing each other's hands and end with communion around the table. It is both a joyous and solemn evening and a fitting pause on the way to the Resurrection of Easter morning.
