This morning our kindergarten classes participated in a World Trade Fair. They have studied a number of countries throughout the year, and today they had a chance to have some real life experience with being entrepreneurs. They have spent the last week making products of the country they represented. For example, French paintings and potpourri, Mexican silver (aluminum foil) jewelry and art and bracelets from Kenya. Each child had a chance to be a seller at the marketplace and in turn also a buyer. They exchanged their money at the World Bank, and at the end of the morning each child had six products to take home. It is always fun to visit the World Trade Fair, and see economics become real to six year olds.
