Lone Sentinel by allie912

Lone Sentinel

Believe it or not, I still have more pictures from our Monday day trip. Here you can see the main house in the background while the towering pine takes center stage. It isn't a very attractive tree but it has a commanding presence. I definitely would not take cover here during a thunder storm.
Beautiful

Lovely timeless image! ...and how can it be that I haven't been following you after all this time! Let's remedy that immediately! I'm delighted to be back with you all!

The pine is certainly standing out in this picture.

Beautiful processing, love how the tree is dominating the whole scene!

Nice dramatic shot of the imposing tree! I like the antique feel of the pic too :)

No, not a good shelter during a storm...but a great perspective.

Love the processing and outstanding composition. You are right, the tree certainly does have a commanding presence.

@phil_howcroft I really think the sepia works here to create a timeless image. What really pleased me and was quite unexpected was what happened to the blue sky and streaks of white clouds when they were converted to sepia. Rather a startling effect, don't you think?

@allie912 it is indeed a great effect allison

Nice shot- sometimes taking those color shots and putting them into a monochromatic format changes them for the better- this one has a really great antique feel to it thanks to the sepia. Nice processing and picture.
