This is the beginning of the paperwork trail that accompanies an on-the-job-injury. This morning i had a telephone interview with my case manager that included the following questions, "Were you under the influence of drugs or alcohol when you sustained your injury?" and "Were you under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of this interview?"
LOL, I can just imagine the look on your face, but it is the typical type of questions we have seen before. I have the unfortunate reposnsibility of making sure such paperwork is done properly in my line of work too when one of my employees gets injured on the job.
We shake our heads in disbelief, but it's sort of a sad commentary on where society really is. I remember seeing an email once of explanations people gave as to why they were in an accident or descriptions of accidents and some of them really made you wonder! So I guess that's why those questions are asked. But I always think do people ever say "Oh yes, I was high that's why I fell down those stairs!" Do people really admit to this?!
i hope you are recovering well, although you will probably have a relapse now that you have started on the paperwork trail. It amazes me how they can want you to fill out so many forms
@olivetreeann I highly doubt it! Sometimes I wonder what would happen if someone in airport told security, "why yes, a stranger gave me this beautiful clock which is ticking away in my suitcase."
well I guess they have to ask.
