It's amazing what you'll find when you are just poking around. This is winter detritus on an unidentified plant growing in the brush near our motel. We always stop here in St. George, SC on our way to Florida. No editing or framing, just uploaded from my iPad.
@phil_howcroft isn't it remarkable? The plant itself appears to be just a green grassy clump. I don't know at what point in its life cycle it begins to curl.
