On Your Mark

This is a trial run of the Lego Robotics Club, a group of 4th graders who meet once a week during the "Enrichment" block. They built both the dogs and the motor to power them. The goal of course was to get across the finish line before any of the other competitors. Things did not quite go according to plan, as you can see in my video http://tinyurl.com/adpvae8 Looks like it is back to the drawing board!
Cool shot

The video was fun- and it looks like the Roboteers still had a great race- albeit a crooked one! What a great club for boys (and girls too- although I don't see any here). I can think of a few boys at church who would join this in a heart beat!

@olivetreeann thanks for watching. There actually are a few girls, but they are definitely in the minority. Some of the other Enrichment choices are chorus and orchestra, and I suspect the girls are more interested in music.

Hey, practice brings about perfection, and I really enjoyed the excitement in that room.

Quite the collision from what I saw on the video.. back to the drawing board is right, but a very neat project.

Sounds like loads of fun for them, and a great way to develop a whole range of skills!

Allie, I was wondering how you like your Nikon 510? I was thinking on getting one. I just never would carry a DSLR I need something that still fits into a pocket on a vest.

@sarasdadandmom I love it., especially the 42X zoom. It's not as compact as my Canon Elph but it's still fairly portable. Right now the black model is $299 at Amazon ($100 less than the red one. Isn't that silly?)
