USA Cycling Collegiate Championships

This year, the Collegiate Road National Championships took place under perfect blue skies in Richmond, site of the 2015 UCI Road World Championships. This 3 day event acted as a test run for the world championships held along the same course next year. The nation’s best collegiate cyclists showed what they could do in a series of timed trials on Friday, a go-for-broke race through downtown Richmond on Saturday and today, a 10 mile course that took the riders from downtown to Monument Avenue, scene of last month's Easter Parade. It was great fun just to see a small part of the fast-paced excitement. Monument Avenue, paved in cobblestones has its own special challenge for cyclists. (I included the picture of the ambulance following after the racers, just to show you how well-prepared they were.) A great day to be outdoors and cheer for these highly motivated and well-trained young people.
Great collage

If you go down in that crowd, it would be a lot of pain, great collage of the day

it sure looks cool to see them all riding together but it makes me a bit nervous too as they look a bit close together
glad they are being watched.

I'm glad to see that the ambulance was not there because of an accident. This collage tells a great story.

Wonderful action shots of the cyclists. I guess it's good that the ambulance is close by. one never know what could happen. hope all went well.

Great collage and and experience to be a part of. They do travel so close together probably wise to have an ambulance nearby.
