Well we made it! We left on the 6:35 am train from Richmond and spent the day catching up on our reading in the Quiet Car where you must refrain from conversation, including cell phones. You would be surprised how many travelers think that rule doesn't apply to them. I actually had to ask the conductor to speak to one chatterbox.
Anyway, I took this picture at our destination while waiting for Meg to pick us up. For some reason the 30 minute drive from Swampscott to Boston was extended to over an hour while they sat in gridlocked traffic. All's well that ends well, however, and we have spent the evening catching up, eating delicious food and preparing for the farmers' market where Meg will sell some of her delicious baked goods. My job? I stamped the white paper bags with her business stamp!
