Our congregation gathered in March to plant a young fig tree in our courtyard. I posted this collage: http://365project.org/allie912/365/2014-03-03 to share the event. What a sense of satisfaction to see actual figs appear in August! In 1 Kings the Bible records, "During Solomon's lifetime Judah and Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, lived in safety, everyone under their own vine and under their own fig tree." In may be awhile before we can sit under our fig tree, but what a lovely thought.
