There's Pie?

The title is from a favorite episode of a sit com I used to watch. The collage is from yesterday's New York City visit. After the memorial service we attended, John and I returned to our hotel and then took a walk in the neighborhood. We were attracted to the name of this little bake shop, then I fell in love with the little faces on the individual pies. But we lost our hearts to the treats on the bottom right--individual flourless chocolate cakes, just right as a reward for a long, intense day.

Did you know that Pie Face is an Australian franchise? I was reading just the other day about their expansion into NYC.

@bruni Very dense and very rich. Here are the ingredients for a flourless chocolate cake as found on the web:
4 ounces fine-quality bittersweet chocolate (not unsweetened)
1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
3/4 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder plus additional for sprinkling
