There have been so few butterflies around, so when I see one I am thrilled. I am going to take a wild guess and say this is a black swallowtail.

How gorgeous, Allie! Sitting out back with Joy yesterday, enjoying the flitting butterflies and dragonflies, I realized that what we lack is flowers for them to alight upon! Some photographers can capture them in mid-air, but I don't have those skills!
