What a lovely surprise when I got home. My recently retired friend and colleague dropped this gift bag at the door in anticipation of my birthday next week. What a thoughtful assortment of treats, each more special than the one before. The jar of pickles was actually preserved by Susan and her two sisters this summer. The jam is a special favorite of both me and John. The cookies are a perfect teatime treat and the dark chocolate with caramel and sea salt is to die for! Notice also the perfect flower with its foliage of aromatic basil! Thank you, dear Susan, for getting everything right and being a friend no matter near or far away!
