Last night in response to the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, demonstrators in Richmond, driven out of Capitol Square by police, moved west along Monument Avenue, defacing the controversial Civil War monuments, setting fires and breaking windows. One can’t help but think of the origins of the Christian Church, that was to be a light to all people, when you witness the anger and frustration of people who face injustice and even death from the majority establishment. Where do Christians stand at this pivotal moment?
