I am trying to train Syd to look elsewhere for treats. He circled the yard over and over, stopping at all the usual stations but finding only hot pepper birdseed which he won’t eat. He did find some spilled seed from past days under a bush, and plunged his paws in the birdbath/temporary feeder to see if there was anything there. ( There wasn’t.) Finally he tried to get to the seed cylinder. Rather than tease him, I covered it with a kitchen towel and he went off and sulked. Hopefully he will get the idea soon that the restaurant formerly known as Syd’s Place is under new management and he will turn his attention elsewhere. BTW, I was able to remove the towel later for the birds and he stopped trying to do gymnastics.
@timerskine When I was a kid in CT, the squirrels used to drive our dog nuts! He would run from one tree to another, barking and looking up, but they thoroughly enjoyed teasing him and never left their cozy perches among the branches.
