5 pm on Christmas Eve is just right for a family service. It was a beautiful combination of scripture, carols, the lighting of the Advent wreath, communion and even a meaningful sermon. The service ended with the singing of Silent Night with candles raised in a darkened sanctuary. Since I couldn’t take that picture one-handed, you will just have to imagine that lovely moment.
