July 19,1969 was a very low key affair. The ceremony was performed at the Congregational Church not far from my father’s home. The reception was in my Dad’s back yard. I made my wedding dress, and my attendants made their gowns as well. It was the weekend Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, and it was out of this world for us too.
A beautiful simple wedding….so much nicer than todays overdone days though the trend here is a simpler day here I think. Pretty similar to our wedding actually. We had our reception at home too.
@kjarn You can’t really see it, but I’m holding a kazoo that the little boy I used to babysat for in college had just given me. I was explaining to John’s it’s significance and he was taking it all in.
