UGO Pt. 3 by allie912

UGO Pt. 3

Here is the third in an occasional series of Unidentified Growing Objects. For quite a while I thought the little buds in the center would develop into flowers like those along the edges, but now I'm pretty sure this is a 2-part beauty at its peak. What ever it is, it has an understated grace I find quite appealing.
It's a Lace-Cap Hydrangea -- and they are beautiful while being so much different than the "snow-ball" variety of hydrangea.
Beautiful photo. My sister & I are GREAT fans of all varieties of hydrangeas.

Thank you for the identification. It's interesting that when I first saw it, when it just began to flower, I thought it was the more familiar hydrangea. Good to know I wasn't too far wrong.

My initial thought was it must be a type of hydrangea, as well. It's a beauty, for sure!

Isn't 365 great at identifying UGO's? I've been able to put a name to a few things growing in our garden thanks to you fab 365ers!

This reminds me of fireworks—first one burst of shape and color and then another different one. Fun!
