I'll be heading to San Francisco in mid-April for the Association of Independent School Librarians annual conference. Last year we were in Nashville and I posted many great pictures from that city on 365. Planning ahead (and being a librarian, that is part of my nature) I realized I don't have an outer garment that is appropriate for April days "frequently rainy with highs in the 50's" So I went shopping before the local stores have totally removed their Spring garments. I got this great microfiber short coat with a light zipout lining and a detachable hood. It's got buttons, a zipper AND 4 pockets. I'll be ready for anything!
I dunno. San Fran is kinda backwards. From about November - May (I think) it is nice. In June-October, it is rainy and cold. I've been there in the late Summer and froze my butt off. I've been there in November, and March, and it was beautiful. Check Frommer's Travel guide online. It will take care of you
@allie912 I wish I could give yo some tips. I have toured the best parts of that city in 1 day (4 cameras attached to me of course). You literally need to know the lay of the land beforehand. I studied routes, etc, so I would not miss a thing. so much to see.
@moncooga The nice thing about this conference is they limit registration to 100 people and over 4 days take us to vineyards, behind the scenes at public and academic libraries, great restaurants with local hosts and of course we visit lots of fine private (independent) schools. We'll be in a boutique hotel in Union Square with time for shopping and touring so, if previous conferences are any indication, we're in for a great trip!
@allie912 Wow! You are going to love this! I am sure we will see some great images. If they offer a Trolley tour around the city, I hope you like wine! You'll get plenty!
Wow Allison, good thinking ahead, because you never know what to expect. It's an unpredictable time of the year. Not sure how it is in California at that time, but here in PA you never know what to expect.
Well, I have heard about the Librarian Conferences and I will be calling the police in that area to make sure you stay straight and narrow. lol
Take your camera.
It's nice to see you! I am looking forward to seeing your pictures from your trip. I remember yours from last year. You inspired me to want to go to Nashville. Hopefully, sometime.
I'm sorry I'm so late in responding.
