Our afternoon was spent at two vineyards. The first one, Kendall-Jackson Winery, had great gardens of plants grown for wine-food pairings. At Rodney Strong Winery we saw the process of making the wine, including these enormous oaken barrels.
In the evening I had dinner with a friend of my daughter who was also in San Francisco for a conference. Oddly enough, we have talked on twitter but never met when I visit Meg in Boston. We had to go across the country to finally meet face to face!
