In Remembrance

Twice a week i walk a group of Lower School students across campus at dismissal. On the way, sheltered beneath a leafy tree dedicated in his name, is this memorial to a student who died 30 years ago. It happened before my association with Collegiate but I sought out a teacher who knows the Jarman family, and she told me that young Sam died in a car accident. She also said that Sam's father still volunteers to help coach the school football team. Working with young people is a living memorial to a son who never had the chance to grow up.
Here is the original essay on our school website that tells about Mr. Jarman.

That must be so hard!! Beautiful tribute to the young man (both this photo and the father who volunteers)
