I'm going to use the same caption for both my albums today because they are connected.
John and I stopped at a nearby drugstore to pick out a movie from Redbox. We were astonished to see about 60 men and women massing in the parking lot on motorbikes. They were milling around, revving their engines. Now if they had been on big ole Harleys, it would have been cause for alarm but they were all cute little motorbikes on which the drivers had to get a running start before they peeled out onto the street. I stopped one guy who turned out to be a local and he explained that these bikers were from all over and had arranged this meet on Facebook. I asked where they were going next and he called out over his shoulder, as he drove away, "Just driving around!"
Nice collage...and sounds like a fun bunch!...but I want to put in a good word for bikers (as in Harley or Honda riders - but NOT the crotch rocket Suzuki/Kawasaki, etc as I don't know any of those guys personally but those I have seen *are* crazy doing their wheelies right in front of me while driving down the freeway!) ...But I digress...back to those Harley and Honda riders...being that I have spent many years attending "Bike Week" in Myrtle Beach, I want to be sure non-bikers understand that probably 90% of bikers are "good guys -and gals" They are doctors and lawyers and teachers and people just like you and me. Like anything, there are some bad apples but....some of my best friends (and relatives) are bikers so I felt the need to make this point :-)
I'm sorry...I am such a goof about anyone even hinting that bikers are scary...my sister tells the story...my sister and brother-in-law...and many of their friends who do not drink, do drugs, swear or anything...she has told me stories about how when a group of them drive up to a restaurant and all walk in together how some of the diners ask to change tables, etc... but on another note...have you seen Julie Cortens post and accompanying video? Another example of good guy bikers ;-) http://365project.org/cortens/365-for-2011/2011-05-28
