a flag with black stripes? This was displayed on the front porch of a restored home in the historic district of Richmond called The Fan. This area was so named because of the "fan" shape of the array of streets that extend west in the city. It was added to The National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
If you can identify the type of flag this is, I would be most appreciative.
Leave it to the librarian to encourage us to find the answer rather than look it up for us!! I love it when your posts teach us something new. Thanks Ray for sharing your discovery with us @rayswrld! Lovely shot Allison!
Oh what a lovely team you all make! I'm smiling at our community and the interaction there is! Love the picture, appreciated the information and you are all great .... apologies that I don't have so much time at present to do a lot of commenting.
I love Virginia---so much history and charm. How interesting about the flag--read the link that Ray sent. Amazing how much we learn on 365! Wonderful photo & the angle shot makes it even more striking!

Amazing how googling is now an accepted word.
