This evening we went to a charity event at the Denver Public Library. It was a combination fashion show and runway competition, accompanied by videos recreating the story of the Titanic. Here you see one of the celebrity judges of the competition. His name is Mondo and to the fashion-savvy he is well-known for winning a similar competition on national TV. I confess I didn't know him or his claim to fame. The whole evening was a new experience for me and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I forgot to include this important story. Mondo told one of my colleagues that he had a soft spot in his heart for librarians, because the library was his refuge in high school, where he felt safe away from the bullies who didn't appreciate his individual style.
I haven't heard of him either, but I know my swimming buddy would have. She loves those shows and talks about them a lot! This is a very nice portrait! Nice to hear how much he appreciates librarians too.
I don't know him either. But it sounds like a fun night. I've heard many students say that about our library. They like to visit during lunch and study hall as a place to go.
