Across from me on this morning's parade route was a Jewish synagogue. Being Saturday morning, The Jewish sabbath, the rabbi was prepared to greet his congregation. There was something so dignified about him as he stood watching the crowds below. I thought about the American troops returning from the Middle East and what that might mean to him. Did he feel gratitude for the religious freedom in this country or did he feel isolated from the festive throngs surrounding him? I wonder.
I wish I had been able to be there to watch the parade and honor our servicemen and women...from what I saw on the 11 o'clock news tonight it was quite a grand event. God Bless Our Troops! God Bless America!
