What better way to portray the frenzy of young kids at Halloween than a collage of the Halloween parade. Kindergartners and First Graders run the gauntlet between doting parents and envious Second, Third and Fourth Graders. They are accompanied by their teachers, also costumed, while taking up the rear is the Collegiate cougar, our school mascot and always a mystery as to its identity. You might notice that all the paraders are clutching red plastic cups in which they have been collecting coins throughout October. At the end of the parade they march on to the Upper School where the children deposit their coins in a big gold-plated bathtub. The money collected goes to funding a scholarship for a deserving student. Last year the school raised more than $8000 from K-12 th grade students. I think they are shooting for $10,000 this year.
