Nobody could misspell the word "go", I thought, so I drew closer to see if there were any clues on the sign. Sure enough, this is clearly a banner to encourage a runner for this morning's Richmond Marathon. Or in the case of "E", the half marathon. 18,500 entrants had perfect weather for a run and their number was increased by 800 late arrivals who came to Richmond after the New York Marathon was cancelled. The actual winners came from much further away. The men's leaders were all from Kenya and the women were from Ethiopia.
