Not too many years ago Clementines were only available around the holidays, and they came from Spain. Now they are in the stores all through the year and as you can see, they are grown in California. I still think of them as a Christmas treat and love to grab one or two and eat them like candy. I found the box and name of these little treats irresistible.
BTW, The title was inspired by the old American folksong, the chorus of which begins, "Oh my darlin', oh my darling, Oh my darlin' Clementine. You are lost and gone forever, dreadful sorrow, Clementine"
