Perhaps you are wondering where I got watermelon at this late date. However, this is actually "watermelon radish", from a local purveyor, Manakintowne Growers. I first tasted this vegetable at the Opening Night reception for my artist friend Holly. These have a lovely distinct flavor; a summer fresh taste but still recognizable as radish. Holly brought me some more yesterday and I have been experimenting so you could not tell how small the slices are. Too bad I didn't have doll house dishes!
