The Good Book by allie912

The Good Book

I stopped in the History Room at church this morning and took some time looking at the exhibits arranged by a wonderful mother-daughter team of historians. When I opened this leather-bound Bible to examine the inscription, I was amazed to read that it was presented to the congregation almost exactly 100 years ago (Feb. 9,1913) when the church moved from Grove Avenue to Park Avenue. We have since moved again, and I expect this will be our final location.
Awesome shot

I love old bibles and this is shot is so perfect with the vintage sepia tones and framing. We have one from 1865 (Walt's GG grandfather) that needs to be restored....YIKES, the expense of doing that is too much for now though. I'll need to photograph it for 365 one of these days.
