A Grim Reminder

My other album shows lively egrets enjoying some water play. Here we see two vultures doing what they do best -- waiting for something to die. As our minister reminded us this morning, people have trouble facing the prospect of death but it is part of the cycle of life and awaits us all.

When I volunteered as a naturalist leading school groups at a local nature center we explained to the children that these were nature's garbage collectors. They keep the roads clean of carrion. They did pose very nicely for you.
