Who would think this unassuming bloom would be the source of so much discomfort. This is oak pollen and its reign of irritation is just beginning. In the weeks ahead much of the population of Richmond will be coughing, sneezing, and wiping their eyes and their cars. It's the price we pay for such beautiful surroundings.
I know about the sap clinging to the cars, but didn't know that the pollen act the same as the ragweeds. I used to be bothered by ragweed. the trees are very beautiful though.
@eniaral Thanks for your concern. I have only begun to feel it the last few years. I think the irritants wear us down eventually. I feel sorry for a number of kids at my school who can't even go out at recess because their eyes get so swollen.
