There was so much going on at school today, I did not want to leave out anything. Here is a list in no particular order: Mother's Day Tea was being held in various kindergarten classes, with corsages, songs, poetry, slide shows set to music and refreshments (including, of couse, tea.) Second Grade was having its Second Annual Engineering Day with experiments and problem-solving going on throughout the Lower School, both indoors and out. Help was provided by Lower School teachers and Middle School science students. While that was taking place, the annual Book Fair was being set up by parent volunteers to prepare for a week of book sales starting on Monday. You can also see a small group of Third Grade girls having lunch outside with their teacher. Not only is that a great treat for the students, but it is part of the year-long economic study in their classroom. One of the girls actually "bought" Lunch with Mrs. M. using Cougar money earned in the classroom. She then invited three friends to join her for lunch alfresco. Finally you might find a picture of a child with her piano teacher having a midday lesson. And I almost forgot the painting by a visiting artist who has a two week residency in the Lower School.
This is a busy day at Collegiate, but to tell the truth, every day at Collegiate is full of amazing activities.
