This was the first painting we came upon on our tour of the Richmond Mural Project, and I was thrilled to see the artist at work. I practically flew out of the car, camera ready, and immediately engaged the painter in conversation.
"How long have you been working?" I breathlessly asked.
"Oh, about 15 minutes," he replied laconically.
I paused, trying to figure out if this particular mural was a group effort, and he had just begun his portion of the job.
"Well, how long has it taken to complete?" I finally asked.
"I don't know. I'm just here to fix the electric lights."
