Quotes from well-known authors attesting to the value of libraries were on display at the Children's Literature exhibit I attended in New York City. Ray Bradbury was one of my favorite fantasy and science fiction writers when I was a young teen. Among his most well-known works are The Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451.
I have only read one of his books- Something Wicked This Way Comes. I don't remember much about it, but I do remember the teacher who assigned it. He was, shall we say, different! He was my first "long-haired hippie teacher". lol I guess he was a little too innovative for modern suburbia. I don't remember him being at the high school when I graduated. It sounds like it was an interesting exhibit.
What memories this shot cause to come flooding back. My childhood was not the best and I buried myself in books from the library and those cards recorded who had checked the book out. Thanks
