I went to a Sunday matinee and left John home watching football. The movie was The Coen Brothers' " Inside Llewyn Davis", a story of the folk music scene in NYC in the early '60s. Of course being a Coen Brothers movie, it was mix of comedy and drama that left you with more questions than answers. I'm sure these two are comparing notes about the movie they have just seen, and I imagine they will not necessarily reach the same conclusions.
@sarasdadandmom That is one of the reasons I went on Sunday afternoon! As for young people being able to afford the price of a ticket, Iit all depends on what you are accustomed to. My high school job was babysitting at 25 cents an hour so a ticket for $1 meant I worked 4 hours. Now minimum wage at $7.25 means a $10 ticket is easily attainable.
I'm not a movie goer - prefer the buy the DVD and watch in the comfort of home. Must look this one up and see if it would be something I'd like. I loved folk music in the 60s and those coffee houses were so cool. I really like how you caught all the shadows in this scene. And the b & w seems to fit with the era of the movie.
