Eastern Redbud by allie912

Eastern Redbud

Such a pretty addition to the springtime scene. Here is a description from a horticultural site:
"Redbuds are most noticeable in the spring when they bloom profusely. But this hardy small tree deserves our attention at other times of the year for other reasons. It has few pests, and tolerates drought conditions. Its size recommends it for many uses including as a specimen tree, in the shrub border, or as a street tree."
Actually once it stops blooming, the redbud reverts to being a rather nondescript part of the landscape. However in April it is one of the stars of the show.
Oh! How pretty! :D

I love this type of tree because of the colour! :D

I never thought these would be arriving, with the winter we have had. Nice picture.

So pretty. The trees around here still look like winter trees. Spring is slow this year.
