According to our hosts, this lichen-encrusted mailbox is not such a rarity in Florida. That may be true, but I think I would have still taken a wire brush to these organisms. As it stands, it looks like the mailbox is being eaten by the creature from the Black Lagoon.
Allison, I agree with you. I don't think I like the looks of it and if I were the post/mail person, I wouldn't like to come in contact with the Lichen.
