Optical Illusion

Driving down Monument Avenue this afternoon I thought the sun was highlighting every tree. Then I realized the yellow pools were fallen leaves, not shafts of sunlight. I walked back later with my camera so I could capture this scene.

Ha ha, I think there is another illusion at play - I thought I was looking at a red tree but it is a bare tree in front of a red tree!

Very pretty! Last weekend I was loving and photographing the leaves under the trees now that there are so many! ...well, "were" so many...before the wind and rain and frost that's followed this past week!
